About the Global Online Research Afternoon Series

Our Mission

The Global Online Research Afternoon series brings together healthcare professionals, researchers, and industry leaders to advance diabetic foot disease research through collaborative learning, knowledge sharing, and meaningful connections.

Launched in 2025, this series addresses the critical need for accessible, high-quality research education in diabetic foot care—a field where multidisciplinary collaboration is essential for improving patient outcomes worldwide.

The Collaboration

This webinar series is organized through a partnership between Global Clinical Research Institute (GCRI) and King’s College London, combining clinical research expertise with academic excellence in diabetic foot medicine.

Global Clinical Research
Institute (GCRI)

GCRI is a specialized Contract Research Organization (CRO) focusing on wound care, diabetic foot syndrome, orthopedics, and dermatology. With deep expertise in clinical trial design and execution, GCRI brings practical insights into conducting research that meets global regulatory standards.

The organization’s leadership includes professionals with decades of experience in wound care research, clinical operations, and medical device trials—expertise that directly informs the practical aspects of research discussed in this webinar series.

King’s College London

King’s College London is a world-leading research institution with a distinguished history in diabetic foot research. King’s College Hospital established the world’s first dedicated multidisciplinary diabetic foot service in 1981, a model now recognized globally by the World Health Organization and International Diabetes Federation.

The university’s ongoing research spans from genomic studies of infection pathogens to innovative care delivery models, contributing to the scientific foundation that underpins this educational series.

Why This Series Matters

Diabetic foot disease affects approximately 198 million people globally and remains a leading cause of lower-limb amputation. Advancing research in this field requires:

  • Strong research methodology and design skills
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements across different regions
  • Effective collaboration between academic and industry researchers
  • Networks that enable multi-centre studies and clinical trials
  • Knowledge sharing across healthcare disciplines
This series addresses these needs by providing a platform where researchers at all career stages can learn from each other, develop collaborations, and strengthen the quality of diabetic foot research worldwide.

What We Offer

The series features 10-15 webinars annually, providing:

  • Expert presentations on research design, methodology, and implementation
  • Practical guidance on navigating regulatory requirements
  • Insights from both established researchers and emerging voices
  • Opportunities to connect with potential collaborators globally
  • Career development support for researchers pursuing academic and industry pathways

Sessions are designed to be interactive, with time for questions, discussion, and networking. All webinars are recorded for on-demand viewing, ensuring accessibility for our global audience.
